Day of Prayer at Westminster Abbey

Once a year Westminster Abbey closes its doors to tourist visitors so it can be a House of Prayer. This year it is on Saturday 10th January from 10 am to 2.45 pm (with Choral Evensong at 3.00 pm).

This Day of Prayer will be lead by the Abbot of Burford Abbey, Stuart Burns on the theme, ‘Be still – Prayer in a Noisy World’. No tickets or payment is required. Just go to the main west door and tell the Verger you are here for the Day of Prayer and take your place in the Choir or Trancepts.

There will be talks and prayer and also space to walk around this wonderful place or to be still and quiet. Refreshments are available in the Cloister and one can eat a packed lunch one has bought from home there – wrap up; it can be cold.

This is open to everyone.
