All Saints with St. Philip, Advent Club Weekend 2004 With planning done and materials
and helpers available 35 children attended St Philips
Centre for two days on the first weekend in Advent. David
Freed had made a wonderful manger stage for a puppet show
so the children could act out the nativity during the
Sunday morning service. All the puppets were made from
wooden spoon shapes with cut out characters clothed in
robes. Shadow puppets were made to represent the Three
Wise men on camels, also stars and palm trees. The
Nativity Story was then enacted by all the children with
the puppets during a very emotive performance which held
the congregation entranced making it a very memorable
service for all taking part. The
children also made chocolate coated apples, with faces,
as edible puppets as well as using up their energy, and
the helpers, joining in parachute games to round the
weekend off. Thank you
to all the children that took part and all the helpers
for giving up their weekend. Diane
