Carol Singing at Boots

Twelve members of St Philips Choir/Congregation arrived prepared to sing along to Clive on electric organ, on arrival there was the East Peckham Silver Band which was playing just outside our allotted area in Boots, somehow it would never had worked,  so we approached the Band and asked if they would accompany us so that we could work together.

They went through all the Carols they could play and we found them in our hymn books and organised a list and how many verses were in each hymn.  The Band master not only conducted the band but us singers as well.  It was truly a moving experience it felt as though it was a real Christian act on both sides, I know they enjoyed the evening as much as us, and I will write to them to thank them for the event, maybe we could join forces next year!

We raised £20.00 for St. Philip’s Future Fund in the hour we sang. We were not really concerned with raising money - it was the presence and the spirit we wanted to share, and that we achieved, perhaps you will join us next year.
