| Advent Club December 2002 What
a great weekend everyone had at the Advent Club at St
Philip’s. About 30 children came, I went along
as a buddy to one of the helpers as I am too old now, and
enjoyed parachute games, glass painting, sweet making
with a house to take them home in, chocolate apples and
lots of colouring. The
most exciting part was when the magician came and showed
us to use a boomerang, the art of plate spinning and some
juggling. He performed magic tricks based on stories from
the bible. My favourite was the story of Jonah and the
whale using balloon modelling. On
Sunday the congregation enjoyed his presentation of the
‘polo hole’. Thank
you to all the helpers for their hard work and for making
