Do you remember………..

sand between your toes, ice creams melting faster than you could eat them, having time to play with the children and discuss new things with the family, getting up in a lazy way, eating new food.

Each of these could be something you remember from a good family holiday. A holiday that set you up to survive the rest of the year and enhanced all your family relationships.

The Mothers’ Union knows how important a break from routine is and so it tries once every two years to provide a few families in this Diocese with a short family holiday. They are called ‘Away from it all’ holidays and in 2005 the MU has booked Herne Bay Court so that a few families with young children can have a week’s break by the sea.

Some of you may remember a very good parish holiday at Herne Bay Court. It is a very good venue for families, with facilities for activities for all ages, good wholesome food and a comfortable bed.  Unfortunately it costs money to book it and the MU has as yet not raised enough for this year’s holiday to be a real success.

Our Branch of the MU is holding a Retiring Collection for AFIA holidays after the morning service on Mothering Sunday March 6th and a Coffee Morning in All Saints on Saturday April 23rd 10am to 12 noon. Tickets for this are £1 each and there will be a cake stall, produce stall and raffle.

Please help the MU to provide these very special holidays and if you are planning a holiday this year I hope that it will be a very good one with lots of wonderful memories.

Mary Shaw (MU Branch Leader)
