Church Council This was the last meeting of this PCC before the Annual Parish Meeting Finance The PCC approved the unaudited accounts for 2002 which would be presented to the Annual General Church Meeting on 27th April. The accounts are currently with auditors. The balance stands at £9023 but this year has included the payment of the bill for the building work at St. Philip’s (approx £125000) and the transfer of funds to the All Saints Restoration Trust (approx £43000) Buildings All Saints Work is now progressing on the North Roof and Aisle. The internal scaffolding should be removed by the end of June 2003 and then work will begin in the Holy Name Chapel. Meanwhile the North door access will be maintained when the builders are not actually working there. It will be necessary to move the refreshment and church shop locations during work on the North Aisle. The points raised by the Quinquennial Review were already known and such work as is needed will be incorporated into the work being done by Charles Walters. The Health and Safety Audit had been completed and awaits writing up St. Philip’s he architect has completed the Quinquennial Review. No new problems were discovered since the last review and will report soon. She has written to PAYE about the broken roof tiles, a consequence of the work done on the tower and spire. The health and Safety Audit has been completed and a report written. The St. Philip’s Church and Centre Committee have began to analyse it and plan some action where necessary. We will soon need to comply, where reasonable, to the requirements of the Disabled Discrimination Act. Anglican Methodist Covenant A paper concerning a new Covenant between the Anglican and Methodist Churches was circulated. We are asked to comment as a PCC about future cooperation between the two churches. The PCC members will read the paper and discuss it at the next full meeting. Parish Structure A Supplementary Standing Order will be proposed at the Annual General Church Meeting. For and after the APCM 2004 members of the congregations at our three churches will be asked to declare which of the All Saints, St. Philip’s and Stephen’s they wish to be belong to for purposes of the Electoral Roll. Of course we can continue to worship wherever we choose week by week. This will mean that each congregation will be able to elect representatives to the PCC, including the appointment of their own Assistant Churchwardens.
