Diana Greenfield, the Maidstone Nightclub Chaplain, came to talk to us at our April meeting. She does her valuable job among the young people of Kent while most of us are sleeping. She gave us much food for thought and really showed us what her work is all about.
On Tuesday May 9th at 7.30pm in All Saints Church we are holding an ‘African Supper’ in aid of the MU Overseas Fund. Naomi Lumutenga, from Uganda will be speaking about her recent visit there and about a MU project there. The meal cost £6 each and is a two course dinner. Please let Mary know quickly if you wish to come so that we can cook sufficient food.
We would like to thank all of you who contributed items for the Operation Sunshine container which left for Cyangugu in Rwanda in late March. It should be nearly there by now and the MU Worker will be eagerly awaiting its arrival. A Maidstone MU member is going to Cyangugu in June so we hope to have a firsthand account of life there and how our aid is used after her return.
