All Saints and St Philip’s Mothers’ Union

In April we had our usual afternoon meeting which was a lively quiz, expertly complied by  Vera Alflatt.   None of us proved to be a ‘Brain of Britain’ but it was enjoyable.

In May we had two meetings. The first was a ‘Cuppa and Cake’ meeting of discussion and refreshments. The second was a very informative talk by John Fowler about the work he does on the Isle of Sheppey with families with young children. Since this is the ‘Year of the Family’ it was good to have an evening concentrated on work with families.

In June we have an afternoon meeting at 2.30pm on June 8^th. Elizabeth Bussmann is coming to talk to us about her work with families and in the schools of this parish.  All are very welcome at this meeting.

Later in June on 30^th at 7.30pm we have the MU Deanery Service at St Paul’s, Boxley Road.  At this service the new Deanery Banner will be commissioned. It is a wonderful banner, beautifully embroidered with a magnificent design featuring All Saints Church and the new river bridge adjacent to our church.
