Last month I announced that The Friends of St Philip's Community Centre became a registered charity. Our first main fund raising event under our new name and charity number was our annual May Fayre at which we raised approximately £830. Unfortunately Trevor Peacock was unable to attend this event but he hopes to come and see us in the not too distant future. Janice has also asked me to pass on her thanks to all those who helped at the May Fayre.

We are now looking to our next fund raising event which will be the tombola stall at the River Festival in July. This has proved to be a very enjoyable day and a good fund raising event. We cannot, of course, do this without volunteers to man the tombola or, more importantly, without your generous donations of tombola items. We should, therefore, be grateful if you could pass on to us any unwanted items which we would be able to use on the tombola.
