Service for Church Schools 27th June 2004

This Sunday saw the first of what will hopefully become an annual event – a service in All Saints Church for the Church Schools in our parish.

As a parish we are privileged to have two Church Schools. From my own work with the schools I can personally testify to the joy of working with both pupils and staff. In these days of increasing secularism it is a real privilege to share with them our own experience of God’s love and also be a part of what God is doing in those places.

A major part of the service was the participation and personal input from several pupils. Many people from our parish are involved in various ways with the schools and this should be encouraged (there are plenty of opportunities!) – it is a particularly worthwhile way not only of expressing and sharing our faith but also of supporting the excellent work done by the schools in a practical way.

I am already looking forward to next year’s service!
