All Saints with St Philip Mothers’ Union
Again we held two meetings last month.
For our first meeting of the month, we made up bags of toiletries for women and children in the Maidstone Women’s Refuge. Many women arrive there, with their children, in a state of distress. They often manage to bring their clothes and some toys for the children but they forget the toothbrush and soap. We will be delivering them this month. We also had an evening meeting when Di Sabel, our MU Spiritual Coordinator came to speak to us.
Several of our members also went to Ipswich Football Ground at the end of June to the MU Worldwide AGM. A report on this will be in the August magazine.
In July we have our summer lunch. This year we are going to Aylesford Priory. We are meeting there at 11am for coffee in the Barn Restaurant and then we are having Midday Prayers in the Cloister Chapel. Lunch will be at 12.30pm and it will be a picnic, (weather permitting). For those who do not like making sandwiches the Barn Restaurant does very good jacket potatoes, toasted and cold sandwiches, soup and yummy cakes. We would like to invite all our friends at All Saints and St Philip’s to join us and we hope for lovely weather.
If you want to know more about the MU in this parish please contact me, Mary Shaw, on 01732 870146.
