Philip's Mothers' Union
With the
autumn coming rapidly we are about to start our meetings
again after the summer break. The next one will be
on Tuesday 14th September at 2.30pm in All Saints
Church. The subject is 'Summer Memories' and
members and friends are asked to share their memories of
summers long ago and not so long ago.
Then on
Tuesday 21st September at 7.30pm in St Philip's Coffee
Lounge we have our last evening meeting of this year,
before the nights pull in. Richard Dove, a local
professional film-maker, will be showing a film about his
recent trip to a hospice in Romania. The hospice cares
for children who have Aids.
To
celebrate the International Year of the Family the
Mothers' Union is organising a family picnic in Canterbury
Dane John Gardens on Saturday 11th September from 3 to 5pm.
You take your own picnic and children's entertainment is
provided. Everyone is welcome but please remember to
visit our Flower Festival first and be back in time for
the concert in All Saints at 7.30pm by the Thursday Choir.
