Parish Alpha Course

The summer is gradually coming to an end and it is time to consider what we could do with the longer evenings!

Why not come along to the Alpha course that is to start on Tuesday 21^st September 2005 at St Philip’s. This 10-week course offers people of all ages an opportunity to explore their faith and maybe to ask questions they have always wanted to be able to ask. Courses are held all over the world and the material used has been agreed to by all major Christian traditions and denominations.

The evenings begin at 7pm and include a joint supper, a short talk and an informal discussion. If you would like to join us on the 21^st September, to see what happens, it would be good if you could let Elizabeth Bussmann know for catering purposes! (Telephone 01622 768544)

Topics include: ‘Why and how should I read the Bible?’ ‘How does God guide us?’ ‘Who is the Holy Spirit?’ ‘Does God heal today?’ ‘How can I resist evil?’

Youth Alpha

Interest has been shown from several corners for a Youth Alpha to be held at the same time as the ‘Adult’ course. We are, in the process of exploring this idea, so if anyone is interested please let me know!

Although it would be held at the same time, Youth Alpha is totally geared to young people and would be lead by young people! This would be a great opportunity for any youngsters considering confirmation next year. There are two age groups 10/11-14 and 15-18.
