All Saints and St Philip Mothers' Union

August is usually a quiet time for our branch but on August 9th we hosted the Mary Sumner Day Service in All Saints.  About 70 members from many local branch in neighbouring deaneries came to the service. We sang some wonderful hymns, such as, Tell out my soul, the greatness of the LordI the Lord of sea and sky and Make me a channel of your peace.  It was a very happy service in which we thanked God for our Founder, Mary Sumner and rejoiced in the present day worldwide Mothers' Union.  Chris preached a very good sermon around the theme of answering God's call and the need for good supportive families and good parenting skills. After this we all enjoyed afternoon tea at the back of the church.

We meet again on Tuesday 12th September at 2.30pm in All Saints. The meeting will include a talk on how to trace your family history. Everyone is welcome at our meetings.
