News from the Tower! First
Quarter-Peal for our newest bellringer Some of
you may know that Dr. Martin Gerhards is the latest
person to join All Saints bellringing team just over one
and a half years ago. Bellringing is much more difficult
to learn than people can imagine and can take quite some
time but the reward of being able to ring as part of a
team makes all the hard work worthwhile, especially when
the bells being rung are one of the countrys finest
peals. For
Choral Evensong on Sunday the 5th September Dr
Martin Gerhards rang his first Quarter-Peal
which is no mean feat as it takes roughly forty five
minutes of concentrated team effort. The details of the
performance are:- 1260

congratulations Martin on your achievement. May this be
the first of many. We are
always looking for new ringers to learn this ancient
typically English Art of Change-Ringing. Anyone wanting
to learn to ring at All Saints ring of ten bells should
contact Graham Heath the Tower captain. Details can be
found on All Saints web site at www.maidstoneallsaints.freeserve.co.uk
or on the notice board in the tower entrance porch. Graham Heath Tower Captain |
