Week of Accompanied Prayer March 28th
to April 3rd St. Martins Church All
who came told me they had found the
experience helpful and stimulating, and were eager
for another WAP as soon as possible. WAP retreats are in
great demand from parishes in the Diocese; so we are
fortunate to have the chance to take part in
another WAP this year in What is a
WAP? Anne
Rees, Diocesan coordinator writes: 'This
is a marvellous way to make an individual retreat in the
midst of your ordinary daily life, and is for EVERYONE -
no previous experience necessary. You commit yourself to
pray at home for half an hour each day and then meet
on your own with your trained prayer companion for half
an hour, at a previously agreed time (afternoon or
evening) This
daily conversation is a very precious time - the week is
a journey into the love of God and you will be encouraged
and affirmed in your own unique way of prayer. A key
factor is that there is no pressure and it is based on
the principle that Jesus meets us where we are. The role
of the prayer companion is to walk alongside you as you
reflect on your prayer and life. What takes place
between you and your companion is absolutely
confidential. You have the opportunity for a whole week
to bask and be affirmed in the love of God.' Information
