Many of
you will remember our Week of Accompanied Prayer hosted
in the Parish, at All Saints, in June 2002. I know that
those taking part in this found it moving and helpful. In June
this year the Parish will host another WAP for What is a
Week of Accompanied Prayer? Anne Rees, the Diocesan
coordinator writes: The Week
is for EVERYONE: - no previous experience is necessary.
This is a marvellous way to make an individual retreat in
the midst of your ordinary daily life: it offers a
journey into the love of God. What
happens in a Week of Accompanied Prayer? A team of
Diocesan-trained prayer companions comes to stay in the
parish. The role
of the prayer companion is to travel alongside you as you
reflect on your prayer. What
takes place between you and your companion is absolutely
confidential. This
daily conversation is a precious time You will
be encouraged and affirmed in your own unique way of
prayer: there is no pressure, or expectation. A key
factor is that it is based on the principle that Jesus
meets us where we are. You will
commit yourself to pray at home for half an hour each day.
You will
meet in the church with your own prayer companion, for
half an hour daily (at a previously agreed time -
afternoon or evening. Do start
thinking about: The
