Maidstone Citizens Advice Bureau
Mid Kent Money Advice Project

The Mid Kent Money Advice Project (MKMAP) located at Maidstone Citizens Advice Bureau is offering money advice and training to individuals, schools, community groups, voluntary and statutory organisations in Mid Kent. The project is funded in the urban areas of Maidstone by the Community Legal Services and in the rural areas by Leader+, a European initiative to develop rural communities.

We are offering financial literacy training to try to prevent debt by encouraging a wider understanding of credit. Courses are tailored to the needs of individual groups on subjects such as basic budgeting, bank accounts, debt do's and don'ts and simplifying creditor agreements, loans and overdrafts.

We are also offering training to frontline staff such as care and support workers to enable them to spot potential debt problems. We will provide them with the information to give them the confidence to deal with simple cases and advise when and where to refer on to a specialist money adviser.

We have a telephone and email support line for front line staff. Individuals, particularly those in rural areas who find it difficult to access their nearest Citizens Advice Bureau can also contact us on:
