All Saints and St Philip’s Mothers’ Union

Elizabeth Bussman came to speak to us for our June meeting. It was good to hear all about the different things, which are going on in our parish, centred around the younger generation.   At the end of June we held our usual monthly Communion Service, during which Nikki Penfold and Pam Bodkin became new members of our branch. Later that same day several members attended the Deanery Festival Service at St Paul’s. At this service, the new deanery banner, with its intricate embroidery of our church, was commissioned. Afterwards we enjoyed some refreshments and caught up with the news from other branches.

Next month we do not meet in church but instead are going out to lunch on Tea Pot Island.  This is a restaurant, on an island, just by the old bridge in Yalding. They serve snacks and light lunches, and have a museum and showroom of thousands of different teapots.  Outside the restaurant is a big garden, full of tables, with a fence around it so it is safe to take small children. The whole area is accessible to wheelchair users. We are going on Tuesday 13th July and we would be delighted if any of you reading, this would like to join us.

Please let us know at church or by phoning 01732 870146. We need to let the restaurant know how many to expect and if transport is needed or can be offered.
