Friends of St. Philips
Community Centre September News Letter I must
first apologise for not having submitted a News Letter
for the last few months but I have personally been rather
busy, although I must admit there has not really been
anything much to say. We have
now received a copy of the Quinquennial report which did
not prove too frightening. Most of the works to be done
are what we expected. We are hoping to have a meeting
this month to discuss what our next steps will be
regarding fund raising, I therefore hope to have some new
in this regard for the October News Letter. At our
last meeting held on the 19th June we had
raised a total of £127,392.87. The target was £128,311.
We therefore have to find just over £850 to cover the
cost of the repairs to the spire and tower. Hopefully
with the tombola at the River Festival and other monies
that have been received since the June meeting in the
October News Letter I will be able to report that we have
reached the target amount and a bit more. As
always, if anyone has ideas for fund raising (the £5.00
starter can still be obtained from Janice)
please do not hesitate to contact one of the Committee
Members. Many
thanks and best wishes. Gwen Moss Secretary |
