National Magazine!
Brian's
special Christmas card design entitled 'Christmas Eve -
Back to the depot goes 72, but Santa still has work to
do' is featured with a full colour reproduction on Page
10 of the November edition of Model Collector. It
has been produced to support fund-raising to restore Maidstone's
last operational trolleybus (Maidstone Corporation No
72). It depicts No 72 (now resident at Sandtoft Museum of
Trolleybuses) set against a festive scene by the Queen's
Monument in Maidstone High Street. Cards are being
sold in packs of five at £3.65 or packs of 10 at £6.90,
including p&p. They can be obtained from D J
Hatt, 27 Wrangleden Road, Maidstone, Kent ME15 9LW.
Readers
of Community may also be interested to know that D J
(David) Hatt is a former pupil of St Philip's CofE Primary
School and is the promoter of the Mid Kent Collectors Toy
Fair which is held in the Agricultural Hall at Lockmeadow
Market. David was kind enough to support St
Philip's Future Fund by letting us have stalls on more
than one occasion during our main fund-raising efforts to
repair the spire and tower and our stalls there raised
nearly £1,000 ! So, in addition to supporting
Brian whose artwork has frequently adorned posters for
our churches and of course the front page of
Community Magazine we can say an extra 'thank you' to
David for supporting us by buying some of these very
excellent and nostalgic cards as well as those to support
All Saints Restoration Fund! Brian's cards will be
available at the next Toy Fair to be held on Saturday
October 18th. Who knows - perhaps the church shop
might stock a few too ? !!
