St Philip’s 150th Anniversary Celebrations Cricket Match
As most of you will know St Philip’s celebrates 150 years of existence in 2007 and as a member of the Parochial Church Council we were asked to come up with suggestions of events to help mark this achievement.
I suggested that we could arrange a cricket match (cricket having been around on an organised basis for about 150 years). I have access (through my work) to a cricket pitch at a lovely location in Loose together with all the necessary equipment. All we need to do is to provide the players. So if you are between the ages of 12 & 102 and would like to play in this very special one-off match next Summer (date to be decided) please contact me as soon as possible.
Once I know that we have sufficient numbers to get a team together we can find a suitable opponent (preferably another church) and hopefully have a great afternoon with supporters bringing picnics listening to the sound of leather on willow in the Loose valley.
This is an invitation to all members of the parish, not just St. Philip’s, and is open to husbands, wives, sons & daughters etc. For those of you interested, please phone me on 01622 751083.
Thank you.
