"Maidstone Symphony Orchestra.  Conductor, Brian Wright, will perform on Saturday 29th November 2003, commencing at 7.30pm at Mote Hall, Maidstone Leisure Centre, Mote Park, Maidstone.  The programme consists of three works ¬ Britten ¬ An American Overture : Brahms ¬ Piano Concerto No.1. ¬ Soloist John Lill :  and Elgar ¬Falstaff.

 

Maidstone Symphony Orchestra’s  President, master pianist John Lill, returns to our concert platform with his acclaimed interpretation of Brahms' concerto No.1.  The programme has the splendid 'American Overture' that Benjamin Britten forgot he had written in the USA  during the early 1940s, eventually premiered in 1985 and Elgar's magnificent Shakespearean musical portrait of Sir John Falstaff.
