Parish Holiday Notes

Thank you to those who arranged the Parish Holiday. The hotel was lovely, food good and company great. Thank you for making our weekend so enjoyable. See you all again next year – same place!

Eastbourne

                        In Eastbourne we had fish and chips
                        And through our window we saw the ships
                        The sea and our hotel were both very near.
                        We walked along the outstretched pier,
                        To get to our room we had to walk down a hall
                        In the morning we got in the swimming pool,
                        Most of the group took pictures of us
                        And we travelled around on an open top bus.
                        Then we went in the town, with shops filled with shelves
                        We got a cool lounge all to ourselves,
                        We also had to find verses, so in the bible we had to search
                        And on Sunday in the rain we ran to church.
                        We had a great time even through the rain
                        I would definitely like to go there again.

On Friday when we got to the York Hotel I was very pleased that we had a room overlooking the sea. That night we had a wonderful dinner, four courses! The staff were very nice and cheerful.

After dinner we all went down to the Crumble Suite and had games night. My team didn’t win but Michael gave us a chocolate bar anyway!

After a good nights sleep we had a morning swim then a cooked breakfast in the restaurant followed by bible keep fit! We then went shopping in the town. There were so many shops and unfortunately it started to rain so we ran into the fish and chip shop. When it stopped raining we took our chips down to the pier.

Next we got on an open top bus but it was very windy on the top. The view was beautiful and we went to Beachy Head. We were dropped off at the pier.

When we got back to the hotel we had another swim then another four course meal. After that we went down to the Crumble Suite and did some dancing.

In the morning we had breakfast then walked to church but it was rainy and very windy – you had to watch out that your umbrella didn’t turn inside out.

The church was beautiful and had lots of people in. As soon as we got back to the hotel we had a big Sunday lunch and afterwards we unfortunately had to leave.

Even though it was rainy we had a fun filled weekend. I will definitely go again!
