DIANA RAFFLE OFFERS MORE HILARIOUS FUN

IN AID OF ST PHILIP’S

And Then There Were Nuns – Hazlitt Theatre - 28th June

St. Philip’s member Diana Raffle has written another hilarious farce that is to be performed on Wednesday 28th June at The Hazlitt Theatre, in aid of St. Philip’s Future Fund. For every ticket sold in aid of St. Philip’s, £4.25 will go towards the fund.

The success and popularity of Diana’s first two farces, Ten Charlies and a Chaplain and Fairway to Heaven have been such that local audiences have been clamouring for another and this one will certainly not disappoint. In keeping with the previous ones, And Then There Were Nuns is written in a classic ‘Carry On Film’ style with mistaken identity, slamming doors, confusion and is interspersed with some impish humour. This latest farce will be performed by local amateur group Theatre 2000 and directed by Diana.

The play is set in Lower Melbury in the midst of a raging blizzard. The Travellers Rest Hotel begins to fill with guests seeking shelter. What the manager doesn’t realise is two of his guests have just robbed the local bank and what’s more, after a mix up at reception, Sister Francis has been given their bag full of stolen cash! A couple trying to patch up their marriage, an unforgiving mother-in-law and a nun loose from the local asylum all check in to add to the hilarious mayhem that ensues.

And Then There Were Nuns offers audiences with a night of fun and laughter. After attending Diana’s previous two farces at The Hazlitt, Sylvia Stevens from East Malling said ‘These have been the funniest nights out I’ve had in years – the tears were running down my cheeks. I can’t wait till the next one’. Peter Green from East Farleigh commented that ‘he hadn’t seen anything like it since the days of the Whitehall farces by Brian Rix’.

For those of you who are tiring of World Cup Football Action on the television, why not cheer up by coming along to the theatre and raising money for St. Philip’s - you’ll be glad that you did!

·      Tickets are priced £8.50 and are available from Diane Daniels (01622) 674494 or Scott and Diana Raffle (01622) 863089.
